We were proud to be the host firm for the Property Agents Independent (PAI) Summer Visit to Hull on the 21st and 22nd June.
Basing themselves at the city’s new Double Tree by Hilton Hotel, 30 delegates from around the country were treated to a buffet lunch and informal networking session in the Lexington Bar followed by a short presentation from the hotels owner Leigh Hall who outlined their confidence in the city when developing the new hotel. This was then followed by a Welcome to Hull presentation given by Diana Taylor, Managing Director, Marketing Humber.
Delegates then headed to the port and were given an introduction to APB’s activities on the Humber followed by a brief tour. The next stopping point was St Stephens Shopping Centre followed by a walking tour of the city centre and fruit market area leading to pre-dinner drinks in the Minerva and dinner at 1884 Dock Street Kitchen.
Friday morning was equally busy with a visit to Hulls Bonus Arena with the delegation being the first official visitors following the announcement of the naming rights to the venue. This was then followed by a visit to Ferens Gallery with an introduction by Kirsten Simister on the refurbishment works that were undertaken to the gallery in the run up to Hulls year as City of Culture in 2017.
Clark Weightman Director Carl Bradley who led the team hosting the visit said “we acknowledged that this was going to be a fairly intensive programme but we had a relatively short window in which to really showcase Hull and the Humber region. It was a privilege to host the event and its only when you pause and have a look at what the city has to offer that you fully appreciate all of the good things that are going on in Hull at the present time both economically and socially.”
PAI is the UK’s largest connected network of Independent Commercial Property Consultants providing national coverage with over 3000 properties on the market at any given time. There are 27 member firms from 58 offices across the whole of the UK. Visitors to Hull came from as far afield as Truro, Cumbria and Norwich.
