SOLD – QUEEN’S GARDENS POLICE STATION, HULL

Published on Wednesday, 5 October 2016

We have successfully completed the sale of Queens Gardens Police Station in Hull.

Following the conclusion of an informal tender process, an unconditional offer of £1.4m was accepted from Hull-based developer Colpin Ltd. The capital from the sale will be reinvested in the policing budget.

Keith Hunter, Police and Crime Commissioner for Humberside said: “The former Queens Gardens Police Station has been surplus to requirements for some time, the sale will provide a welcome boost into the capital budget and represents good value in the current market, along with the regeneration of a significant building in the city centre.”

Clark Weightman Director Carl Bradley, who negotiated the sale said “When we were instructed to sell Queens Gardens Police Station we recognised it’s importance within the city centre and were keen to make sure that not only did we achieve best price for the building but also agreed a sale that would complete within a reasonable time frame and also to a buyer who could demonstrate that they had the experience, skills and financial resources to deliver a good quality development.

“Our marketing was UK wide with prospective buyers coming to Hull from the length and breadth of the country. The levels of interest in the opportunity exceeded our expectations which was fabulous news that developers want to invest in Hull. After inviting best offers we met with a shortlist of interested parties before agreeing terms with Colpin Ltd. We are delighted with the outcome of the sales process and wish them every success with their new development.”

Colpin Ltd, who are already actively redeveloping Essex House in Hull City Centre, will submit a planning application for the redevelopment of the building to Hull City Council later this month.
