SHORTAGE OF QUALITY STOCK REMAINS A PROMINENT THEME IN THE COMMERCIAL PROPERTY MARKET

Published on Wednesday, 10 February 2016

The Q4 2015 RICS UK Commercial Property Market Survey has just been published which shows a continued rise in occupier and investment demand across the whole of the UK.  The common theme of 2015 was that there has been a shortage of good quality stock coming to the market and the results of the final quarter have emphasised this point.  The market slowed slightly towards the end of 2015 but that does not come as a surprise.  The RICS report states “with the national picture showing a shortage of supply coming through, and demand still rising firmly, all sector rent expectations continue to point to strong growth both in the near term and further out.”  At Clark Weightman we have found that the market trends in the Humber region have tended to follow the national scene although growth has been at a slower rate than London and the south east.
